1. Does Dr. Golden-Tevald treat children and men? Yes! We do full service family practice including men, women and children over the age of 12.
2. How long before I can get an appointment? For urgent visits, we may be able to see you that day or the next. Non-urgent visits can usually be scheduled within the week, subject to your availability.
3. What are your hours? The office is open from 9:00am to 4pm Monday through Thursday and 5-7pm on Monday evening. The office is closed on Friday. We also schedule appointments on designated Saturdays.
4. Do you take my insurance? We participate in a number of health plans; please contact the office for most up-to-date information. Even if we are not participating providers in your plan, many plans have out-of-network benefits. We are able to submit your claim electronically in either case.
5. Can I get a PAP and physical done? Yes, we do PAP tests and routine gyn physicals. Women's health problems such as PMS, irregular cycles, ovarian cysts, infertility, perimenopause, recurrent miscarriage, pelvic pain and post-partum depression are addressed in a way that cooperates with the woman's body and is never suppressive or destructive of her fertility. I do not do surgery, but have relationships with excellent surgeons for referral if surgery is needed.
6.
Does the doctor treat hormonal problems?
Yes, NaPro Technology is the name for this cooperative treatment and addresses hormonal problems associated with the problems listed in #5.
7. What is NaPro Technology? NaPro Technology is a new women's health science, developed at the Pope Paul VI Institute in Omaha , Nebraska . 30 years of research has culminated in the development of this system of evaluation and treatment that cooperates with a woman's reproductive system. The Creighton Model FertilityCare System is the method of observing and charting biomarkers of the fertility cycle. This information is the basis of evaluation and treatment in NaPro Technology.
8. How is NaPro Technology different from what other doctors do? Fundamentally, NaPro is different in that it seeks to diagnose and understand the problem and apply a treatment to correct that disorder as much as possible, to return the patient to a state of health as much as possible. Many approaches to the problems noted in #5 today are suppressive or destructive. They seek to make the symptoms less troublesome, but do not cure, treat, or even diagnose the underlying problems in many cases. NaPro Technology also is completely morally acceptable to many who find many contraceptive methods of family planning, artificial reproductive technologies and in-vitro fertilization morally unacceptable.
9. Is NaPro Technology covered by insurance? NaPro is medical evaluation and treatment and is covered as any other medical treatment within the scope of your health plan.
10. What is OMT? OMT or Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment is a method of treating the musculoskeletal system, to reduce pain and improve function. It is often used along with medical therapy to maximize a patient's return to health. It is an additional area of training that DO's (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) obtain during their clinical training.
11.
What treatments are available for PMS
, post-partum depression, infertility, menopausal symptoms? Each case is evaluated individually. We will have an initial consultation to understand the scope of your concern, previous evaluations and treatments and a thorough history. For infertility and PMS, you will be referred for instruction in Creighton Model Fertility Care System to learn to chart your biomarkers. After 2 cycles (2 months), we will continue the diagnostic work-up. This may involve a hormone series of blood work timed with your cycle, and possibly ultrasounds timed with your cycle. A treatment plan is outlined and we will follow with you. For Post-partum depression, treatment is instituted as soon as possible utilizing natural progesterone and other treatments as appropriate for each case. For the menopausal woman, we utilize bioidentical hormones to achieve hormone balance and wellness.
12. What is the Creighton Model Fertility Care System? Creighton Model is a standardized, mucus based system of observation of a woman's biomarkers to identify times of fertility and natural infertility. It can be used as a method of fertility appreciation both to avoid and achieve pregnancy. It is also an excellent method to monitor and maintain gynecological health.

The area of NaPro Technology is not a separate specialty board although extensive training and continuing medical education make it an area of special expertise. |
